Two People Found Dead in Apartment

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman whose bodies were found in an apartment Friday afternoon near Desert Inn Road and Maryland Parkway.

Police officers had been called to check on the couple when a woman grew concerned she hadn't heard from her friend in a while.

The man and woman's deaths appear to be a murder-suicide, Metro Lt. Ray Steiber said. The pair, in their 20s, appear to have died earlier Friday.

Steiber said it appears the man killed the woman. Police believe the woman lived in the apartment, but Steiber said the man's identity is not yet known.

"We will try and put together what we believe the story is and why things ended up they way they are," Steiber said. "Unfortunately, sometimes we may never know."

According to police, the bodies were found about 3 p.m. at the Mark 1 Apartments. Homicide detectives have been called to investigate.
