LAS VEGAS - Some drivers are yielding and/or stopping when traveling to eastbound Russell Road from northbound Paradise Road when they do not need to.
The intersection sits north of the McCarran Airport Connector. Airport officials say drivers do not need to yield, since traffic coming from the flight path can move into its own lane, leading to the right-turn lane for eastbound Russell.
Northbound drivers coming from the tunnel can continue in their own parallel lanes.
Motorists do not need to stop. A yield sign would only be used if traffic is being forced to merge into a lane that is already being used by other drivers.
Drivers often weave and make illegal lane changes in the area. Some motorists slow to yield. Others dart left to go north on Paradise or shift right to turn on Russell. Because of that, Traffic8 has requested increased enforcement in this area.
Motorists do not need to stop here - just use their signals and let other drivers know they are changing lanes.
