NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- North Las Vegas officers and investigators were on scene of their second deadly accident Friday evening.

A 55-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed by a car trying to cross Cheyenne Avenue near Rancho Drive at approximately 7:20 p.m. Police say the bicyclist was riding southbound across Cheyenne when a Kia SUV struck him. He died at the scene.

Witnesses say the bike rider was not in the crosswalk when crossing the road, and police suspect he may have been under the influence of alcohol. The 23-year-old female driver of the SUV did not suffer any injuries and is not expected to face charges.

Earlier, police responded to another fatal accident near Home Depot Drive and Craig Road. Police say a Hyundai SUV rear-ended a Ford sedan, causing the sedan to strike a light pole. The driver of the sedan, a 54-year-old man, died at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the SUV, 27-year-old Courtney Hildinger, did not suffer any injuries. Police arrested her and booked her on one felony count of DUI with Death.

The Clark County Coroner's Office will identify the victims of both accidents once next of kin have been notified.
