LAS VEGAS -- Bullhead City Police are investigating the death of a 7-month-old boy as a homicide.
According to police, officers were called to a home in the community about 8 p.m. April 9 on a report that a baby was not breathing.
The child was rushed to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center and later flown to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas.
The child was listed in extremely critical condition with severe bleeding in his brain. Medical experts told detectives that the baby's injuries were not accidental.
The baby, identified as Richard Joshua Cromwell, was taken off life support and died Sunday.
The medical examiner determined the baby suffered a skull fracture and listed the cause of death as blunt force trauma by assault.
The boy's father is under arrest on an outstanding warrant for assault and disorderly conduct in connection with a domestic violence incident against his wife in February.
The couple's 2-year-old daughter has been removed from the home. She is in foster care.
