LAS VEGAS -- An arrest has been made in the shooting of a 14-year-old boy who was found dead after a party in January.
Ricky Brown, 16, is facing murder and attempted murder charges. According to his arrest report, Brown, who also goes by the name Gooney Mac, and the victim, Haji Mohamed were at a party with numerous gang members on Jan. 12. Metro Police said, at least 16 gangs were represented at the party in an apartment on E. Reno Avenue.
The report said, as the party started to break up, Brown fired several shots. One of the bullets hit Mohamed behind his left ear, killing him. One witness told police, just before the shots were fired, she heard Brown say, "I'm going to air out this place." The report also said, a friend of Brown's, told police Brown felt bad about the shooting because he didn't intend to shoot Mohamed. There was also a second victim at the party that was shot in the elbow, police said.
