Police Looking for Man Who Kidnapped Girl

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police are looking for a man in connection with a kidnapping near Centennial Parkway and North Fort Apache Road.

According to police, a girl was walking near the intersection at about 2:45 p.m. March 27, when a man forced her into a car. She was able to escape near the 9600 block of West Tropical Parkway and was not hurt.

Patrick Culbertson is a senior at Centennial High School and walks the same stretch of road everyday where the girl was kidnapped.

"Usually around here I don't ever hear about stuff like that, so to hear about it is out of the norm," Culbertson said. "I think it's ridiculous, I honestly think this is a safe part of town and for something like that to happen to somebody is crazy."

Metro Police said it's possible the suspect could live in the area and fear since the kidnapping failed, it could happen again and be more violent.

The kidnapper is described as an unknown race male between 25 to 30 years old. He is about 6-foot and weighs about 200 pounds with a muscular build. He has brown skin with short, black hair worn in a spiked style. At the time of the kidnapping, he was wearing a light blue shirt and black jeans.

The car used in the kidnapping is described as newer model dark blue Chrysler 300 with tinted windows.

Anyone with information is asked call Metro's Sexual Assault Section at 828-3421, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers 385-5555.
