Bail Set in Mesquite DUI Crash that Killed 5

MESQUITE, Nev. -- The teen accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that killed five people appeared in Moapa Township Justice Court Monday morning.

The bail for 18-year-old Jean Soriano was set at more than $3.5 million. He is charged with five felony counts of DUI, two counts of bodily harm for two injured crash victims, driving without a license and failure to reduce speed.

The crash happened in the early morning hours of Saturday on I-15 near Mesquite. Nevada Highway Patrol said Soriano's SUV rear-ended a van causing it to crash. There were seven family members from California in the van, five died and two were injured.

    Las Vegas-- Investigators are looking into what sparked a fire at an apartment complex near Maryland Parkway and Hacienda.The Clark County Fire Department says the blaze started in a garbage can on the east side of the building. A total of five units were affected by smoke and water damage.The Red Cross is assisting one person from one of the units.Arson investigators are looking into the cause, but say there's nothing suspicious about the fire at this time.More>>
