LAS VEGAS - A viewer says a traffic light is desperately needed at the intersection of Cimarron Road and Blue Diamond Road.
Developers in the area have signed agreements to pay for 55 percent of the cost of a traffic signal. However, that's the most progress Traffic8 could find on installing a signal at that intersection.
Blue Diamond belongs to the Nevada Department of Transportation. NDOT traffic safety engineers reviewed this intersection and conducted traffic counts and a queuing analysis for the left-turn lane for westbound Blue Diamond onto southbound Cimarron.
That analysis was done during the busiest time of the day at this intersection from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. This intersection did not meet NDOT's criteria for a traffic signal, so there are no plans in the foreseeable future to install a signal. Drivers and pedestrians did get a crosswalk, but struck out on a signal.
