LAS VEGAS - Viewers are curious about an apparent lack of speed limit signs along I-15 and the Las Vegas Strip.
In early February, Traffic8 asked the Nevada Department of Transportation about the lack of speed limit signs on I-15 from Spring Mountain Road to the 215 Beltway.
NDOT plans to install permanent speed limit signs on the right side of the freeway and, eventually, the medians. This will take place during the next few weeks.
As for the Strip, the speed limit is 45 mph south of Tropicana Avenue and 30 mph north of Tropicana. The reduction in speed is due to increased congestion, more casinos and a higher number of pedestrians as drivers travel north.
Traffic8 previously inquired about spacing between speed limit signs on the Strip, and whether there is enough signage. County officials are studying the matter.
