LAS VEGAS -- The North Las Vegas Police Department identified the two officers involved in a shooting Sunday.
Robert Crampton, 58, was shot in the 5400 block of Winterdale Street, near Ann Road and Valley Drive. He was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.
According to police, officers responded to reports that a man was trying to harm himself with weapons in his home. During a confrontation with Crampton where police said he shot a handgun at them, the two officers shot back, hitting him multiple times.
The officers were identified as Robert Makinster, 28, a five year veteran; and Christopher Coloma, 28, a six year veteran. The officers are on paid administrative leave.
