LAS VEGAS - A viewer questions the timing of traffic lights on Vegas Drive at Jones Boulevard and Torrey Pines Drive.
The lights at both intersections cycle, even when no traffic is present in one or more direction – causing delays for cars that are present.
According to City of Las Vegas and Regional Transportation Commission officials, a vehicle detector failed at Vegas and Jones – causing a constant call for eastbound traffic. That problem has been repaired.
On Vegas and Torrey Pines, it wasn't just eastbound traffic. All directions were failing, making this a light that makes drivers late for work. The city found the vehicle detection system at that intersection also failed. Repairs have been scheduled.
