LAS VEGAS -- A moped rider is in critical condition after colliding with a car in the 3900 block of Lake Mead Boulevard about 6:50 p.m. Monday.

North Las Vegas police spokeswoman Chrissie Coon said the rider was traveling west on Lake Mead at the time of the wreck.

The rider was taken to University Medical Center for treatment.
