Family and Friends Remember Shauna Tiaffay

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- Nearly seven months after Shauna Tiaffay was found murdered, her friends gathered at Summerlin Centre Community Park.

"She was absolutely the most loving incredible friend and mother," said Carol Pool.

As family held onto pink balloons they said comfort is still far from reach.

"I'm hoping that will happen when we go through the court system. Maybe at that point it feels like we'll get some closure," said Paula Stokes-Richards, Shauna's sister.

On Sept. 29, 2012, 46-year-old Shauna was found brutally beaten to death in her Summerlin apartment.

Police later linked Noel Stevens, a homeless man, to her murder.

Even more shocking, police said, Tiaffay's ex-husband, George Tiaffay, contracted Stevens to murder his wife for $600.

Stevens later pleaded guilty for Shauna's murder. Former firefighter, George Tiaffay, now awaits his court date in jail.

Loved ones said this day isn't about remembering the tragedy, it's about reflecting on good memories and happier times.

Family and friends said even though Shauna isn't here for her 47th birthday, they are leaning on each other and coming together to send her messages of love.
