Horns Blare to Honor Slain Cab Driver

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- Cab drivers from all sorts of companies in Las Vegas lined up and honked their horns starting at Mandalay Bay to the scene where their friend Michael Boldon was killed.

One of the cabs in line is driven by Yosef Wole, a driver who knew Boldon well. Wole shakes his head in disbelief that his friend is now gone.

Wole's cab is one of hundreds that headed up Las Vegas Boulevard to honor Boldon.

"He was just doing his job and man," Wole said. "I will never forget Las Vegas Blvd. and Flamingo Road right on the corner because of what happened."

At the intersection where the crash happened, the car horns blared as the cabbies honored Boldon up the Las Vegas strip.

The other victims were on the minds of the drivers as well.

Boldon's passenger Sandra Sutton and the driver that slammed into the cab Kenny Cherry, died as a result of the shooting.

The Cherry family was in California laying their son to rest, but their lawyers said even with the capture of Ammar Harris closure is still a long way away.

"When the case is over, no matter what the result even if there is a conviction in this case, the family will still have to put together the pieces and they are still going to be missing a son," Cherry family attorney Bob Beckett said.

Michael Boldon was laid to rest yesterday with his family over the phone briefly saying they are still grieving his loss and couldn't speak about today's arrest.

Sandra Sutton Wasmund's memorial will be held Saturday in Washington.
