More Lewdness Charges Filed Against Bible Study Leader

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police tell 8 News NOW that a bible study leader is now facing nine new felony charges of lewdness with a child under 14 years old.

According to police, 29-year-old David James was charged with the new counts Tuesday. The new charges are connected to a new victim, who was discovered during the investigation.

Police arrested James last month on 10 counts of sexual assault with a minor under 14, two counts of sexual assault with a minor under 16 and 10 counts of lewdness with a minor under 14.

Officers say James volunteered to lead Bible study classes to gain access to his victims.
