LAS VEGAS - Those who live and work near Boulder Highway and Sahara Avenue wonder if long overdue road construction has been delayed again.

Boulder Highway and Sahara is one of the most delayed projects in the valley. Work started almost two years ago. The entire area has been taken over by cones, barrels, detours and giant holes for storm drain work.

Many speculated the project was delayed again, however, Traffic 8 received confirmation from county officials the project is still set to finish this May with most detours lifted by April.

Even though many people say they don't see workers on site, the workers are there – working underground. Pictures taken last week also clearly show progress.

This project has been a saga with a contractor pulling out of it and a huge impact on those who live in the area. The $9 million project involves working on a storm drain below Boulder Highway from Sahara to the Flamingo Wash.

County officials maintain the project is almost completed.
