LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A woman is dead and a man is injured after they were struck by a truck that drove up on a sidewalk in Las Vegas.

Police say the crash happened about 5 p.m. Sunday on Valley View Boulevard, south Sahara Avenue.

Authorities say a Nissan Titan was traveling eastbound on Sahara when it made an abrupt right turn and drove into oncoming traffic on Valley View. It then drove up onto the sidewalk and hit the two people before fleeing the scene.

A 52-year-old woman was pronounced dead at University Medical Center, while a 39-year-old man was treated for moderate injuries.

Truck driver Jason Manuma was found about 2 1/2 miles from the scene and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
