What drew Tedd Florendo to Las Vegas? He wanted the opportunity to expand his weather casting opportunities. Although Vegas is known for its endless sunshine, the valley does experience a wide range in weather happenings that can fascinate any weather fanatic.
Weekend Weather Anchor and Reporter, Tedd Florendo, started predicting storms in eastern Washington in 1999 for ABC affiliate KAPP/KVEW TV. From there he jumped nearly 2,000 miles east to cover frost biting blizzards in Green Bay, Wisconsin at the official Packer station WFRV.
A year later, 8 News NOW offered Tedd a great opportunity to cover monsoon storms in Las Vegas. He left the tornadoes and blizzards of the Midwest to take on a new challenge. Tedd is a hybrid news reporter and weathercaster for Channel 8. Already in his career, he has covered floods and storms for the Weather Channel and is a member of the National Weather Association. He's currently furthering his education and obtaining his Geosciences Degree from Mississippi State University. He was also voted "Best Weathercaster" by the Electronic Media Awards in 2007.
Keep your TV tuned to Channel 8 and soon you will be seeing Tedd on the CBS Early Show. He has recently been approved by CBS to fill in for Weathercaster, Dave Price, in New York City .
Tedd is married. The couple have three four-legged kids. A Golden Retriever named Bruner, a Beagle named Woofie and a tabby cat named Phebe.
