LAS VEGAS - A viewer says a crosswalk is desperately needed near Nellis Boulevard and Mohave Avenue.
The viewer says the area, which sits next to a senior community, has been the site of numerous bad accidents.
One issue involves two curves in the road. Drivers speed by the senior community and right into the intersection where pedestrians are walking. The area lacks a crosswalk or traffic signal to help make this a legal, easy crossing.
Traffic8 brought the concerns to county officials who also received a request from Clark County Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani to launch a safety study for a multi-way stop or traffic signal with a crosswalk.
That study will happen. Officials have added Nellis and Mohave for a 30-45 day study in early March. The study is expected to be completed in mid-April and could lead to a new signal and crosswalk, and improved safety for nearby residents.
