LAS VEGAS - Valentine's Day is a busy day for florists in the valley. If you're still waiting to pick up a gift for your date, you might still be in luck.

If you have time during your lunch break or after work, many florists around town say they will be open late and will have flowers available. Don't be surprised if the line of men goes out the door, though.

One shop owner says the past few Valentine's Day holidays have been lackluster, but they're ready for a big spike in sales this year.

"Expectations the last four to five years have not been overwhelming. We've been stuck on a status quo. We're anticipating ten percent growth this year, and we're hoping it will continue on, so it gets back to some sense of normalcy. It's been a tough few years," said Di Bella's Flowers and Gifts owner John Di Bella.

Roses are obviously the most popular flower. Some people who receive flowers on Valentine's Day are taking the symbolism behind each flower to a different level.

It's all about the colors according to ColourLovers.com. Red roses signify love and/or desire.

Yellow represents friendship, so if things are moving too fast and you want to just be friends, go for yellow flowers.

Purple flowers stand for integrity, so these flowers would be ideal for someone you respect, admire and/or hold in high esteem.

All flowers are expected to be shipped Valentine's Day. If you haven't picked yours up, you have all day to do so.
