CARSON CITY, Nev. -- Embattled Nevada Assemblyman Steven Brooks has been ousted from the Assembly Democratic caucus.

In a statement late Wednesday, the Assembly Democratic leadership announced Brooks was no longer welcome.

The statement read:

"Assemblyman Steven Brooks is no longer a member of the Assembly Democratic Caucus. At this time, the organization has determined it's in Mr. Brooks and the organization's best interest to part ways. The caucus encourages him to work on his health issues without the rigor of caucus business. The ADC remains as committed as ever to conducting the people's business this session."
