In today's digital world, most young people aren't exposed to the older traditions. So we thought we'd take Wednesday's Child this week to a place where they could really get their hands dirty -- molding clay. Dave Courvoisier introduces us to Elijah.
We're a Clay Arts Vegas with Elijah, and two other young men whom you'll meet next week on Wednesday's Child.
Elijah is the handsome young guy there on the end in the red sweatshirt.
Elijah is a 10-yr-old who's playing catch-up with his education...because his personal life has been challenging.
"He's doing much better in school he does struggle with his reading. But he's really looking for a family who will assist him in those areas," says Gina, an adoption recruiter with the County's Division of Family Services.
On the flip side, Elijah loves sports, and pets and being outdoors. He's got lots of energy, and needs strong direction, but family services is open to all interested parties.
"Actually this is one of those cases that in life is open to whatever family that would love him, help him to rise to level that he needs to rise to and so that he can really meet his potential goal as an adult. But he did say I don't have a preference, I don't care, it can be to parents, one parent, as long as they love me," adds Gina
Elijah needs stability and love... And especially someone who is willing to fulfill his most fervent wish:
"His biggest interest is he would like to see Disneyland one day he has never been to Disneyland so if there's anyone out there who would like to take Elijah to Disneyland we would love it," says Gina.
Elijah has adopted siblings that he needs to stay in contact with... So anyone adopting Elijah would need to honor that wish.
