LAS VEGAS -- A pet store owner is relieved after two of his precious puppies are safe and back inside his store.
The Siberian Husky siblings were stolen last week but thanks to efforts by police and tips from the public, authorities tracked down one of the suspects in the burglary.
"I'm really happy that they are back," said Paul Tomas, the owner of Puppy Boutique.
Thursday, thieves snatched the Siberian puppies from Puppy Boutique on Rancho Drive and Craig Road.
Tomas said he worried the pups would never be returned. His store was one of four pet shops broken into since Sunday. Police believe two of the crimes are related.
On Monday, 8 News NOW aired a surveillance video from break-ins at both Prince & Princess Puppies and Acrylic Tank Manufacturing.
The video shows the suspects going straight for pure bred puppies and high-priced birds.
Metro Police are thankful for the tips from good Samaritans. As a result, they have been able to arrest one of the suspects. The minor has been charged with two counts of burglary and two counts of possession of stolen property.
Police are still looking for another person of interest who is identified as 23-year-old Juan Carlos Vasquez.
In Tomas' case, he said, after 35 hours, the two pricey puppies were brought to his door by a stranger. He said both dogs were in good condition.
"They were happy, I put them together in the room and let them play," said Tomas.
8 News NOW also received more good news about another happy reunion from Acrylic Tank Manufacturing.
They were reunited with three bearded dragons and some of their exotic birds. It's hoped the remaining missing animals will turn up soon.
"They are animals and they need to be taken care of, they need care, so please help us to find all these pets or animals that have been stolen," said Tomas.
