The Clark County Grand Jury has indicted Michael Smith on murder and assault charges in the shooting death of a man in January.More>>
LAS VEGAS -- A North Las Vegas pastor has been acquitted of all charges against him in a sex assault case. The jury came back with the verdict late Thursday afternoon.
Sixty-year-old Bill McCurdy faced charges that he sexually assaulted two men over four years. A grand jury originally indicted McCurdy in 2010.
The prosecutors argued that McCurdy used his influence as a pastor to manipulate the men. The defense successfully argued that the accusers couldn't be trusted because one man was a convicted felon and other had recanted his statement to police.
McCurdy was the pastor of Revival Temple Church of God in Christ. He faced similar charges in 2005, but those charges were dropped because of conflicted evidence.
