3 Dead, 1 Injured In Shooting

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- Three people have been shot to death in the 2200 block of La Sombra Street in the northwest Las Vegas valley Tuesday afternoon.

According to Metro Police, SWAT team members responded to the house near Smoke Ranch Road and Jones Boulevard about 4 p.m. after reports of gunshots heard coming from a house.

The three people were declared dead at the scene. A fourth male victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and is listed in critical condition.

Resident Karen Javier and her family live next door to the home where everything went down and said she was at work when her adult son called her to tell her what was going on.

"He called back said he had gone in the back yard to look over the fence and what he saw was their sliding glass door was out and there was blood everywhere," Javier said. "The cops had been called over there several times."

Metro Police said they found more blood in front of the home on La Sombra Street as the SWAT team was called in when police didn't get a response from the people inside.

"Upon officers making entry to that residence, they discovered three people who were deceased and they were also found another male who was critically injured," Lt. Ray Steiber said. "We do believe that there were four people involved with this incident, and we do believe it to be domestic related at this point and we do not believe there are any outstanding suspects."

Neighbors said a family of four lives at the home. An older couple and their two adult children in their 40's as neighbors said police had been called to the house in the past.

Police said it's too soon to tell who pulled the trigger, but said this looks like some sort of family dispute.

None of the names or ages of the people involved have been released.
