LAS VEGAS - A viewer wants advice on navigating the multiple alternate routes due to road construction in Centennial Hills.
The viewer is talking about road construction along the 215 Beltway in the northern part of the valley where drivers are getting a heavy dose of detours.
Bradley Road is closed and will never re-open. A new Bradley is being constructed and is scheduled to reopen in late April as a bridge.
Local drivers say Decatur Boulevard is the worst and Tropical Parkway is the best in terms of alternate routes, but this is relative. All traffic in the area is slow due to the construction.
This is all a part of the $116 million widening work along the beltway which will create a non-stop, four-lane freeway between Tenaya Way and Decatur Boulevard. Once completed in Summer 2014, this will mean seven miles of open freeway from U.S. 95 to Losee Road. Until then, however, the roads will be clogged with cones.
Drivers' best bet is to avoid the area entirely or allow more time for commutes.
