LAS VEGAS -- A 23-year old woman died in a crash near Charleston and Rainbow boulevards after driving her car into the back of a public bus Monday afternoon.
The crash happened just before 2 p.m. Witnesses told Metro Police that the woman ran her car into the back of a Regional Transportation Commission bus that had stopped to pick up passengers at a bus stop.
The woman, who was thrown from her car, was pronounced dead at University Medical Center. Her name and cause of death will be released by the Clark County coroner after her family has been notified.
Five bus passengers were hurt and taken to area hospitals to be treated for minor injuries.
This is the 14th traffic-related death in Metro's jurisdiction this year. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
