HENDERSON, Nev. - A viewer wants to know if crews will ever widen and improve Stephanie Street in the southeast part of the valley.
City of Henderson officials say they are working to complete the design for this project, which means getting environmental, Nevada Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration approval.
The reason for the approvals is Stephanie Street won't just be paved and widened. It will become a future parallel bridge over U.S. 95/I-515.
When completed, Stephanie will be expanded to four lanes with sidewalk and bike lanes over the freeway. Between Galleria Drive and Russell Road, Stephanie Street will be milled and paved. Drainage capacity will also be added for Pittman Wash.
The city received funding through the Surface Transportation Program. Those are federal funds for Fiscal Year 2015, so drivers will have to be patient.
