LAS VEGAS -- One man is dead after crashing a car Sunday morning.
Metro says a man driving a 2000 Lexus rolled over and crashed into a light pole shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Cheyenne Avenue and west of Michael Way.
Witness statements and evidence at the scene, indicate the Lexus was stopped at Michael Way traveling west on Cheyenne. A passenger exited the Lexus and was standing near the drivers door when the driver suddenly sped off, knocking the pedestrian to the ground.
The Lexus passed over Michael way where it struck and crossed over the center median. The Lexus then entered the eastbound travel lanes, striking the south curb and two light poles.
The driver was transported to UMC Trauma where he was pronounced dead.
This is the 13th traffic related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
