LAS VEGAS -- State Assemblyman Steven Brooks was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation late Friday afternoon, according to Metro Police.
Originally Metro Police officers went to the home of Brooks' grandmother in the 8400 block of Westcliff Drive in northwest Las Vegas in response to a disturbance. When officers arrived, officers determined an arrest was not warranted, but took him in for a medical evaluation because of his erratic behavior, according to Metro Police.
Brooks will have a medical evaluation performed to prevent harm to himself and others, the police said.
Brooks was taken into custody following his arrest last Saturday on a charge of threatening the life of Assembly Speaker Marilyn Kirkpatrick.
Brooks talked to the I-Team early Friday about the charge. He listed a number of people and groups that he claimed were conspiring against him.
