With all this cold weather we've been having, it's probably fitting that Wed's Child hits the ice today with a brother and sister pair hoping to be adopted. Dave Courvoisier introduces us.
April and David admit they're not hockey stars.... But they took to the ice with youthful abandon and actually made it look pretty easy...well sort of.
The guy in the checkered shirt out their with them is Lance, their D-F-S caseworkers, and he says April -- the younger of the two -- is actually more aggressive.
"The first time I met her she described herself as a tomboy social mix it up with the boys they go ride bikes and scooters so very active and whenever she can be out doing something she loves to do it and initially when I approached her with skating I was anticipating some resistance to it but she was like now that sounds great I'll try it," says Lance.
David -- who is 11 and two years older than April -- is an easygoing 5th grader, who takes a little more time to get to know you.
"I think David just needs to get used to somebody before she opens up and is as outgoing as April is. Once he feels comfortable around you he will talk about most everything under the sun with you," adds Lance.
These two are free for adoption, and are hoping for a family with pets, and maybe some other siblings about their age. And then there's the really important stuff.
"Compassion, caring, love… flexibility reliability what I'm really looking for a family that's really committed to the kids it's going to see through thick and thin with them that's going to stick by them and provide structure in addition to the love and caring portion that they need," explains Lance.
April and David want to maintain contact with two older siblings...so we'd need a family who's understanding of that.
