Casinos Look to Fill Seasonal Positions

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS - A huge influx of jobs will be coming to town this summer. Casinos are hiring for seasonal positions.

MGM Resorts is hosting a job fair that gives applicants the opportunity to meet face to face with hiring managers, interview with them and potentially get drug tested and hired on the spot.

The company is looking to fill 750 jobs that include lifeguards, servers and bartenders for every hotel the company has on the Strip.

MGM says these are temporary jobs that end in September, but they could lead to long-term, full-time positions within the company.

"I think it's always easier when you're inside the company and you have experience and knowledge of the company," said Marvella Smith with MGM Resorts International. "I think it definitely goes a long way in helping you."

MGM isn't the only company hiring. The Wynn and Encore will each hold a job fair this week, as will LasVegasJobs.com.

According to Las Vegas Jobs, hundreds of jobs will be available ranging from health care to hospitality. That job fair is happening Thursday, January 24 at Palace Station from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The MGM Resorts job fair will be held Monday and Tuesday inside MGM Grand at the Hollywood Theater.

MGM Resorts representatives expect as many as 2,000 applicants for the 750 jobs. When you go to the job fair, try the small hotels first, because there might be less competition.
