LAS VEGAS - Metro Police says a preteen who was assaulted Thursday during an attempted robbery has died. Investigators said the preteen was walking near Charleston Boulevard and Torrey Pines Drive with
Marcos Arenas, a Bonanza High School student who was assaulted Thursday during an attempted theft, has died, Metro Police said.

Metro is on a manhunt for a person who shot two women at a soccer game.

Just after 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning, an adult soccer game at Teton Trails Park came to an abrupt end. Players reported hearing gun shots, two women were hit.

Police said a 49-year-old was shot in the right thigh and a 35-year-old was grazed on her chest. Both women were taken to UMC Hospital.

Police believe the shots came from behind large walls to the east side of the field.

Behind the walls are a row of homes.

"I was a little bit shocked because we come here [Teton Trails] pretty often and I've never heard of anything like that happening before," said Cody Alfar.

"Actually, I couldn't believe it, because here it's like a peaceful zone so it was like crazy," said Lorenzo Mangini.

After the park was re-opened Cody Alfar and Lorenzo Mangini came out to the field to squeeze in a workout and a security guard told them about the shooting.

Both teens say they were caught off guard by the news because they consider their community a safe place.

"I'm going to come back but I'm just going to be a little more weary, make sure people know where I am," said Alfar.

"I have to pay more attention, maybe," said Mangini.
