LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police are investigating a fatal crash in Moapa Valley.
The crash happened about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday at Airport Road South of the intersection of Ross Avenue next to the landing strip at Perkins Field.
According to police, The driver of the 2006 Ford attempted to re-enter the roadway but over corrected losing control of the vehicle. The car rolled over, in the soft dirt of the shoulder, coming to rest upside down on its roof near the cross street of Joan Avenue.
The two passengers of the Ford were able to exit the vehicle unharmed.
The driver of the Ford sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical personnel.
The deceased victim was 17-years-old as Metro is still determining the cause of the crash.
This is the 9th traffic related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction for 2013.
The collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigations Section.
