LAS VEGAS -- An 86-year-old woman who was hit by a car near Lake Mead and Rampart boulevards Monday morning has died, Metro Police Sgt. Richard Strader said.
The woman was hit by a car about 10:20 a.m. and taken to University Medical Center, where she died. Metro's fatal detail was dispatched to the scene of the accident.
Three eastbound lanes of Lake Mead were closed at the time and drivers were advised to seek alternate routes.
This is the eighth traffic-related death in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
