2 Arrested in New Orleans in Las Vegas Killing

LAS VEGAS -- Two people were arrested in New Orleans Tuesday in connection with the killing of a 33-year-old Las Vegas man.

Jason Byes's body was found in Kingman, Ariz., on Monday after firefighters extinguished a small fire reported near an Interstate 40 off-ramp.

Majunique Brown, 30, and Marshan Bowden, 22, both of Las Vegas, are facing several charges, including murder in the first degree and kidnapping in the first degree.

According to Las Vegas Metro Police, Brown and Bowden killed Byes at an apartment complex in the 1800 block of Lewis Avenue near downtown Las Vegas the night of Jan. 6.

The pair then used Byes car to move his body to Kingman, where they set it on fire before heading to New Orleans.

Bowden was arrested during a traffic stop and Brown was arrested at a home.

Bowden is also facing a charge of possession of a stolen vehicle. They are awaiting extradition to Las Vegas to face the charges.
