LAS VEGAS -- The bail for a woman accused of taking part in alleged murder plot against her estranged husband was set at $750,000.

Amy Pearson, also known as Amy Bessey, appeared in Las Vegas Justice Court Thursday morning.

Pearson is facing charges of attempted murder, battery, and conspiracy to commit murder. Her estranged husband, Robert Bessey, was shot as he drove along I-15 in November 2012. Bessey survived the shooting and was able to describe the vehicle that pulled up next to him just before the shot was fired.

Shortly after the shooting, police arrested Richard Pearson, Amy's brother, and Michael Bessey, the son of Amy and Robert Bessey.

According to the arrest report for Amy Pearson, Robert Bessey told police that he had been having an ongoing dispute with Amy over divorce proceedings and there was a $250,000 life insurance policy about to expire on him. The arrest report points out Pearson may have been also been motivated because of a romantic relationship with the couple's son.

Pearson is due to appear again in court on Jan. 15.
