LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Two parents accused of fleeing a Las Vegas mobile home fire while their three young children perished have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
Court officials say 22-year-old Shane Gouailhardou and 26-year-old Amy Hatzenpiller entered the plea Wednesday.
A grand jury indicted them last month on second-degree murder and felony child neglect charges that could get them decades in prison.
Gouailhardou's 2-year-old son, David Gouailhardou, and Hatzenpiller's children, 2-year-old Skylar Lafia and 15-month-old Aryana Lafia, died in the June 15 fire several miles northeast of downtown Las Vegas.
Authorities allege the two unmarried adults were too impaired by methamphetamine to rescue the children.
Investigators think the fire could have been sparked by a smoldering cigarette or by a child with a lighter. An exact cause wasn't found.
