LAS VEGAS - Hundreds of people are expected to say their final goodbyes to 10-year-old Jade Morris. She was brutally killed three weeks ago, and her story touched many people.

Friends, family, and even strangers can come to the Bread of Life Church at 2721 Coran Lane Wednesday to pay their respects and hear the stories of Jade's childhood.

After missing for almost a week, the 10-year-old's body was found a couple of days after Christmas in an abandoned housing complex in the north part of the valley. Police say she was stabbed to death.

Her accused killer, 50-year-old Brenda Stokes Wilson, has been denied bail and faces murder and kidnapping charges.

Jade's grandfather Phil Tucker planned Wednesday's memorial service, because he knows so many people are following the story of Jade's murder. He says this service will give people a peek into her interests, such as jazz music, and show her adventurous attitude.

"I hope that people get a chance tomorrow to really walk away from there, not just knowing her tragic ending, but also knowing what a wonderful kid she was," he said. "No matter what you were doing, she was down for. She wasn't shy. She wasn't bashful. She's the type of kid that - you'll see in a lot of her pictures - she's standing on top of stuff, probably stuff that I wouldn't have done when I was a kid."

Wednesday's memorial will set aside time for prayer. Some of Jade's favorite singers are also scheduled to perform.

The memorial service starts at 1 p.m. The church has seating for as many as 600 people.
