NORTH LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Police are investigating after a man was killed at a North Las Vegas apartment complex over the weekend.

North Las Vegas police say they responded to a complex on Civic Center Drive late Saturday night and found a man who appeared to be shot.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigators believe the man was standing on the west end of a common area in the middle of the apartment complex when he was shot. Police say the shooter may have fled on foot or in a vehicle.

Police haven't released any suspect information. The man who died hasn't yet been identified.

The shooting marks the first homicide in North Las Vegas in 2013.
