WASHINGTON (AP) -- The State Department said Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is speaking with staff and reviewing paperwork while she continues to recover from a blood clot in her head.
Spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said Clinton has been "quite active" on the phone Wednesday with State Department aides. She said doctors will continue to monitor her progress.
Clinton was admitted to a New York hospital Sunday and is being treated with blood thinners to dissolve a clot in the vein behind the right ear. Doctors found the clot during a follow-up exam stemming from a concussion she suffered in early December.
Clinton's doctors said there was no neurological damage and they expect she will make a full recovery.
