Secretary Hillary Clinton Hospitalized With Blood Clot

Posted: Updated:

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been admitted to hospital with a blood clot following a concussion.

A spokesman says doctors started giving her anti-coagulants, or blood thinners, on Sunday and they will monitor her condition for the next 48 hours.

The 65-year-old fainted earlier this month because she became dehydrated while battling a stomach virus.

That illness forced Clinton to cancel a trip overseas and delay testimony in front of congress about the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
