Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Hospitalized With Blood Clot

Posted: Updated:

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Secretary of State Hillary Clinton admitted to hospital with blood clot following concussion.

She hit her head more than a week ago after she fainted while recovering from the stomach flu.

A spokesman says doctors started giving her anti-coagulants, or blood thinners, on Sunday and they will monitor her condition for the next 48 hours.

Clinton has kept a grueling schedule as Secretary of State. She has visited 112 countries during her term.

She is widely considered one of the front runners to be the Democrats nominee for President in 2016.
