LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police arrested a 24-year-old California man last week in the rape of a woman near the Las Vegas Strip in September.
Rosendo Bravo Lopez of Salinas, Calif., was arrested by Salinas Police officers on sexual assault and battery with intent to commit sexual assault and coercion. He is awaiting extradition to Nevada to face the sexual assault charges.
On Sept. 1, a 22-year-old woman was found by security after being seen running frantically down a road barefoot and shouting for help.
A man was captured on video running away in the opposite direction.
According to police, the woman was raped near the 3000 block of Joe W. Brown Drive as she was returning to her hotel room. She was taken to University Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries and released.
