LAS VEGAS - More than 300,000 people will come to Las Vegas to ring in the New Year next week. With visitors pumping millions of dollars into our economy, local businesses will be stocking up on New Year's Eve party supplies.
Businesses that depend on this time of the year hope people are ready to spend.
Tommy Rocker's General Manager Jim Kleiss says New Year's Eve will make up half of the bar's income in January.
The bar/restaurant industry has been doing well the last few months and is having potentially one of its best years ever. Bars are trying to end the year with a bang.
Tommy Rocker's expects as many as 400 people New Year's Eve who will spend money on drinks, food and games.
If you're out Monday night, expect most local bars to pull out all the stops to keep the crowds wanting and spending more.
"During the New Year's, a lot of the local bars are offering free champagne and party gifts. We want to make it as memorable as possible. The local bars always try to make it as big as possible, and when they do that, it leaves a memorable impression with your guest," Kleiss said.
Kleiss says while bars in Henderson have not performed well this year due to a poor economy, he expects the same great treatment, so customers will come back.
Bars usually have a rough first quarter, since football season – which brings in business – dies down by January and February. They're expecting the same for 2013, so bars will rely on New Year's Eve crowds to bring in business.
