Holiday Shoppers Projected to Spend $586 Billion In 2012

LAS VEGAS -- Time is running out before presents need to be under the tree as shoppers flooded Fashion Show Mall to get their last minute shopping done.

"Oh, it is so hard to get in here, it's packed. But I love it, its good holiday sprit and cheer around here," Ian Holbrok said.

Ready or not we are now just one night away from Christmas Eve as stores are doing everything they can to get you in the door, offering sales, reward card perks and even staying open late.

"I'm surprised with Macy's being open 48 hours, but in a way it's good I guess," shopper Mae Wong said.

The National Retail Federation estimates shoppers will spend more than $586 billion on holiday gifts that's up from last year.

Clothes and shoes seem to be the go-to gifts, along side gadgets and accessories for shoppers. Whatever the gift may be, it's now a race against the clock to make sure every item is checked off the list.

Shoppers said it was easy to find a deal at the mall today as many stores will be open late tonight in hopes of drawing in last minute business before Christmas.
