LAS VEGAS -- A 51-year-old woman has been diagnosed with the West Nile Virus in southern Nevada, the Southern Nevada Health District announced Friday.

The woman was infected with the less serious form of the virus and did not need to be hospitalized. The infection is the eighth case reported this year in southern Nevada, including one death.

Along with the infection, SNHD also reported additional West Nile-positive mosquito pools discovered in the 89121 and 89124 zip codes.
