LAS VEGAS -- Friends of the woman who was shot and killed Friday night at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino Las Vegas have confirmed her identity.
They identify her as 30-year-old Jessica Kenny of Las Vegas. She was working at the Excalibur at the concierge desk, but she was a contracted employee of the website Vegas.com.
"She was the most amazing person ever," said friend Elyse Janel.
According to Metro Police, a man walked into the hotel lobby at about 8:30 p.m. and shot Kenny several times then turned the gun on himself. He was declared dead at the scene. Kenny was rushed to University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
There may have been a previous dating relationship between the gunman and the victim, police said.
Vegas.com released this statement late Friday night:
"We were saddened to learn that a member of the VEGAS.com family was the victim of tonight's tragic and senseless killing at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino Las Vegas," said VEGAS.com Chief Operating Officer Bryan Allison. "Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends."
