LAS VEGAS - Metro Police are investigating a suicide at the Red Rock Conservation Area Wednesday morning.
Nevada Highway Patrol reports a man in his late 30s went missing Wednesday morning. Police located him sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot at the Red Rock overlook. The man had a gun and was threatening suicide.
Despite efforts by officers to coax him out of his vehicle, the man shot himself in the head and died.
The incident shut down State Route 159 for about an hour. Police are still investigating the scene.
