When police arrived, they arrested the suspect, 22-year-old Joshua Olvera. He is being charged with three counts of attempted murder and burglary with a weapon.

Security officers were on patrol in the Circus Circus parking lot off South Industrial Road when they found the suspect trying to burglarize a car, police said. According to the guards, the suspect ran and fired several shots at them.

The guards did not shoot back. No one was hurt.
